First Nations

Here in Canada they refer to Native Americans as First Nations.  There are many perspectives on the First Nations here in Saskatchewan.  The Royal Mounted Police laud the settling of the Canadian west as "very peaceful" with regard to the First Nations.  Sounded plausible, until we visited the Wanushewin Heritage Center (Cree Tribe) and read some of the Cree accounts.   History aside, exploring the world of the First Nations and their creations has been mind-expanding.

My favorite image from Wanushewin.

Pencil portraits of Cree tribe members by a local artist.

These faces say so much about their lives.

And the one who made it all possible.
